Celtic may have to wait until the summer to reunite with Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney, according to TEAMtalk sources.

Tierney's contract with the Gunners expires at the end of the season, and Celtic have already reached a pre-agreement to sign him on a free transfer. However, the Scottish champions are unlikely to secure the defender's services during the current January transfer window.

Arsenal are eager to offload Tierney this month to recoup some transfer fee for the Scottish international. However, finding a suitable buyer in the middle of the season has proven challenging.

Celtic are keen to strengthen their squad in the January window, but their priority lies in securing a replacement for Josip Juranovic, who recently joined Union Berlin.

Celtic to Wait for Tierney as Arsenal Seek January Sale

Tierney, despite struggling for regular playing time under Mikel Arteta, remains a highly-rated player. However, the Gunners are looking to rebuild their squad and are willing to let the defender leave on a free transfer at the end of the season rather than risk losing him for nothing in the summer.

Celtic will now focus on securing alternative options in the left-back position before the January transfer window closes. They will then look forward to welcoming Tierney back to the club in the summer, where he is expected to play a key role in the team's future success.
