Liverpool are desperate to find the right man to replace Jurgen Klopp this summer after the German coach announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season. Liverpool had ideas on who the right man could be to become the next Liverpool coach after Klopp, and while their previous main target was Xabi Alonso, the club had to pivot for other options. Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton was an option but has now become a priority for Bayern Munich, who are also looking for a new manager this summer. Liverpool has Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP as their main target, but they could potentially lose him as other previous targets.

Liverpool are heavily interested in Ruben Amorim for his attacking playstyle with Sporting Lisbon. The Reds have reportedly been negotiating with Amorim's agent and are willing to offer him a three-year contract. While nothing is confirmed about a deal between Amorim and Liverpool being completed, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano says that Liverpool will not risk completing the deal as they are negotiating differently with him compared to other candidates.
Romano talked about the Amorim links to Liverpool and said, "Ruben Amorim is the favored candidate for Liverpool for sure. But we still have to wait and see because Liverpool are discussing this possibility internally, while they have also made contacts with people close to Amorim. This is significant because it’s not something they did with Roberto de Zerbi or some of the other names we’ve seen in the media in recent weeks. Amorim remains a strong candidate – they are well informed on his contract situation and there will be more discussions over him becoming the new Liverpool manager.”

Liverpool will be playing in the Europa League quarterfinals against Atalanta BC. The Reds could avenge Ruben Amorim by winning this game since Atalanta BC eliminated Sporting Lisbon in the Round of 16. Atalanta defeated Amorim's Sporting 3-2 on aggregate, and this could be a nice gesture from Liverpool for their potential new manager.
