Saudi Arabian champions Al Hilal are making plans for the future of their squad, and Mohamed Salah has emerged as the top candidate to replace Neymar. According to reports, the Brazilian forward could leave the club to join Inter Miami, reuniting with Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez.
Neymar's move to Al Hilal in 2023, following a €90 million transfer from PSG, has not delivered the expected results. The forward has played just seven competitive matches due to injuries. His contract, which expires in the summer, includes an option for a one-year extension, but it seems that the Saudi club is preparing for his departure.
Liverpool’s Egyptian forward, whose contract runs out in July, has been identified as the ideal replacement. Salah has made it clear that this will be his final year at Anfield, despite being in the best form of his career.
European clubs such as PSG and Barcelona have shown interest in the player, but the Saudi Professional League has long been targeting him as well. According to Hafez Al Medlej, the former marketing director of the Saudi league, signing Salah would be a strategic move to enhance football’s popularity in the Arab world and Europe.
Meanwhile, Neymar has been strongly linked to Inter Miami, where he could reunite with Messi and Suárez, recreating one of the most iconic attacking trios in football history. The trio, who led Barcelona to a treble in the 2014/15 season, remains one of the most formidable attacking combinations ever.
In a recent interview with CNN, Neymar expressed his desire to play alongside his former teammates again:"Obviously, playing with Messi and Suárez again would be amazing. They are my friends, we still talk. It would be interesting to revive this trio. I am happy at Al Hilal and in Saudi Arabia, but who knows? Football is full of surprises."
