Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay were the goalscorers for Manchester United in the win against Aston Villa. Hojlund scored his 5th Premier League goal of the season and is now the second top goal scorer for Man United in the league. He is tied with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford, who have also scored five goals this Premier League season so far. McTominay has only started 12 out of 21 Premier League games this season, yet he is still the top goalscorer for Manchester United in the league with seven goals. This is his third goal contribution in 60 minutes across the past three games.
Ten Hag was vocal about McTominay's impact from the bench, and he gave him the recognition he deserved. Ten Hag said, "He is [a super sub], but he can also start. You have to credit a player like Scott. He is an example for many players these days. There are not many players anymore who are ready for every minute they can be on the pitch. Today, we have seen another example. He is always ready to come on and make a difference."

Another player Ten Hag was satisfied with was Man United right-back Diogo Dalot. Dalot registered an important assist to McTominay in the game's last minutes. Ten Hag said, "Everyone gets criticism, but he [Dalot] is a fantastic player who is developing very well. He can play in so many positions, and he is improving on crosses. He can score, and his defending is improving, so I am very pleased with him."
