Cristiano Ronaldo reigns over the media swarm with a saga that seems to have no end, while his future remains unresolved. Bayern Munich was one of the teams approached by Ronaldo’s agent and friend, Jorge Mendes.

Now, the CEO of Bayern Munich, Oliver Kahn, has admitted to the German sports daily 'Bild' that the offices of the Teutonic set would have "valued" the option of signing the Portuguese star following an offer they had received. "We have discussed the issue. Otherwise, we would not be doing our job properly," said Kahn, who expressed his admiration for the Madeira striker. "I personally think Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players there has ever been on the planet," the former goalkeeper added.

But it seems that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner did not quite fit in with the Bundesliga champion's lifestyle: “We came to the conclusion that, despite all the appreciation we all have for him, he would not have fitted in with our philosophy in the current situation”.

Thus, the future of CR7, who is 37 years old and earns a salary of €29 million a year, remains open. Bayern Munich - thinking about the future - is betting on younger players to build a team for many years to come.

A complicated signing

In addition to Bayern, the Portuguese star has been linked with teams like Chelsea and Atletico Madrid; however, his possible signing with any of these teams would not be easy due to economic issues, as last season CR7 was the highest paid player in the Red Devils' squad with more than 500,000 euros per week.
