For more than a decade, the rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo exists both on and off the pitch. Everyone compares them from all possible points of view and decides who is the best in history.

One point that puts them on an equal footing is how badly they did in their respective leagues. On the one hand, Lionel Messi won Ligue 1, but his statistics were not the best. On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo was in second position with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Neither of the two stars managed to lift the most important trophy of their respective confederations.

Many expect Lionel Messi to improve his performance compared to his last season (2022/23). The arrival of the Argentine to Major League Soccer generated a revolution in the United States. On Cristiano's side, they believe that after the discomfort experienced with his family he will be able to raise his performance.

Messi's incredible salary with Adidas

Several years ago, both figures have contracts with multinational brands. On the one hand, Cristiano Ronaldo has a link with Nike, being one of the main faces of the brand from the United States. The Portuguese receives in return an annual figure of 16 million euros. On the other hand, Lionel Messi crushes him with the salary he receives from Adidas. The German brand with the three stripes pays the world champion 130 million euros for wearing his brand on every possible occasion. This being one of the reasons that he came to the MLS, since all the clubs wear Adidas brand shirts.
