If every World Cup has a special story, Qatar 2022 was marked by the dream of Lionel Messi, who after so much persistence won the most precious title on his fifth attempt. And with the consecration consummated, his jerseys became relics for any football fan. Only this explains why they can be sold for more than 7 million dollars.

A few days ago the auction of six of the seven jerseys worn by Messi in the last World Cup closed, leaving out of the auction the alternative that he wore in the match against Poland, the only one in which he did not score goals. The renowned Sotheby's house in New York reached a figure of just over 7.8 million dollars. And it was close to the record of Michael Jordan, whose 1998 NBA Finals jersey fetched $10.1 million.

Messi himself echoed this auction on his Instagram profile, stressing that "part of the proceeds will be donated to the UNICAS Project, led by the Sant Joan de Déu Children's Hospital (SJD) in Barcelona to meet the needs of children suffering from rare diseases".

The Salah auction

Mohamed Salah's jersey from this season signed and donated by him in an auction that raised £250,000 all for Gaza. Mo is such a kind-hearted person! He not only excels on the football field but also uses his success to help others. His generosity is truly inspiring
