Cristiano Ronaldo continues to give something to talk about and now, he does so after his recent appearance at the traditional bisht in a video that has gone viral on the networks. The footballer appears wearing the traditional Arab outfit and the reason behind it is very curious. The image reminds us of Lionel Messi wearing the same outfit once he won the World Cup in Qatar 2022 and the Emir of Qatar gave him said clothing.

A tradition in Qatar is for Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to place a bisht on a deserving prominent personality. Just as it happened with Andrés Iniesta and other stars, the distinction that the planet saw went to Leo Messi seconds before lifting the World Cup. For many, the image of Lionel Messi with said clothing was historic, however, for others, it was not very pleasant due to the political context.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo already wears said suit. The player appeared as part of a cultural video on the occasion of Saudi national day, which is celebrated every September 23. Ronaldo, who appears at the end of the video, wears the thawb or thobe, a white, ankle-length garment similar to a tunic; On his head he wears the kufiya (also known as hatta or shemagh), the typical white and red checkered scarf held by a black band; and on top of him he wears the bisht.

What is the value of bisht?

According to Mundo Deportivo, the bisht not only stands out for having been used by Leo Messi when lifting the Cup, but it is a short tunic, black in color and with gold motifs. Its usual value is $2,071. It has seven layers of workmanship and is made by hand with a special Japanese fabric. It has a very great symbolic value in Qatar and can only be used daily by the Qatari emir, in addition to some ministers of the Arab state, although the latter are authorized to wear it on specific dates.
