Lionel Messi was the star of Monday, October 30 in Paris. Although La Pulga had escaped from that city after ending his contract with PSG, this time his stay was not hostile at all. On the contrary, the captain of the Argentine National Team enjoyed a night that had him as a star and winner at the Ballon d'Or ceremony. Now, at said event he coincided with a person whom he seems to hold some grudge against: Joan Laporta.

The president of Barcelona had won the club's last elections with the promise that he could retain Messi in the Blaugrana team. However, when it seemed that everything was set for renewal, Leo was forced to leave the club of his loves in tears due to the poor management of the boss. Not satisfied with this, two years later he was not able to repatriate him free, something that definitively broke the relationship between Laporta and Rosario.

Joan made excuses for the team's financial problems to be able to afford Messi's salary, but the reality is that the current Inter Miami footballer was willing to play on a low contract in order to put on the Barça jersey again. As if that were not enough, once the '10' made the decision to continue his career in the MLS, the Catalan team closed signings such as Ilkay Gündogan, Íñigo Martínez, Vitor Roque, Joao Cancelo and Joao Félix. Lionel himself took note of the latter and at the Ballon d'Or ceremony he returned it to Laporta.

What did Messi do to get revenge on Laporta?

According to the journalist Guillem Balague, author of the biography of Lionel Messi who was present at the Châtelet Theater, Joan Laporta asked La Pulga for a photo after his triumph in the ceremony and the Argentine preferred to leave since "he still feels betrayed." Along the same lines, it is worth clarifying that the anger of the best player in the world is exclusively with the president and not with Barcelona, an institution that he continues to love.
