A great scare for the Liverpool FC star, Mohamed Salah, who suffered a chilling attempted attack by a fan in the middle of the African qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup. The Egyptian player achieved an important record and became among the best in his team in the victory against Sierra Leone, but the local fans were not happy with the result and entered the field.

Egypt's victory against Sierra Leone had Salah as the protagonist and not because of his goals, but because of the attempted attack that he suffered during the second half from a fan. The Liverpool player saw how a spontaneous man jumped from the stands with the intention of attacking him, although his teammates, and later the stadium security, prevented him. After the crash, he had to leave escorted by the military. The match was played at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium, in Monrovia (Liberia).

The incident ruined a new victory for the Pharaohs in the World Cup qualifying phase. Trezeguet's double gave Egypt another three points. Salah, who had just scored four goals in the previous match, was not so brilliant. Even so, he gave a magnificent assist in the 0-2 scoreline that sealed the match.

Salah shines with Egypt

Before the victory against Sierra Leone, Salah shone with his team. Mohamed Salah (31 years old) is getting closer every day to being considered the best African player ever. The Egyptian striker started the African qualifying phase for the 2026 World Cup like a shot. The Liverpool player destroyed Djibouti in the match that was held in Cairo. A poker that further elevates his legendary figure in Egypt. Salah scored a poker of goals against the weak Djibouti. The Liverpool player found the net on four occasions (17', 22', 48' and 69') in the 6-0 win that Rui Vitoria's pupils handed down to the African team.
