FC Barcelona is preparing to face a new date of the Champions League. Chapter number 4 of the tournament begins to mark the second round and there will be only three more matches that separate the Blaugrana team from a latent possibility of a round of 16. Currently, the Blaugrana is in first place and will look for a victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in Hamburg to take another step to the next round.

Xavi Hernández has in mind an 11 fetish for his favorite 4-3-3 formation with Robert Lewandowski playing from the starting line-up and with Lamine Yamal waiting for a place on the substitutes' bench. The other novelty is that Joao Cancelo returns to play on the right side after playing as a midfielder in that sector on the last date of La Liga in the agonizing victory against Real Sociedad.

Moving on, those chosen by Xavi Hernández to play this Tuesday in the Champions League against Shakhtar Donetsk will be: Marc André Ter Stegen; Joao Cancelo, Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso; Gavi, Oriol Romeu, Ilkay Gündogan; Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. While on the visit they will play Riznyik; Konoplia, Bondar, Matviienko, Azarov; Stepanenko; Zubkov, Kryskiv, Sudakov, Newerton; and Sikan.

Why would Xavi align like this?

Aside from the Champions League duel against Shakhtar Donetsk this Wednesday, FC Barcelona is preparing to face Deportivo Alavés, Rayo Vallecano and Porto, all duels in the month of a tight October with the double competition. At the moment, fighting in La Liga, where they are third behind Real Madrid and Girona plus their good performance in the Champions League, where they are leaders.
