The French National Team has placed itself in an important way and is one of the great contenders for the next EURO 2024. Now, the French have a litmus test against the host team of said competition in a preparatory friendly. Germany is going through a football debacle at the national team level. The team managed to win the 2014 World Cup, but after its great success, the team has been in free fall. In Qatar 2022 and Russia 2018, the Germans failed to get past the group stage. The friendly match will be played in Dortmund, but another friendly is rumored to be scheduled early next tear at the Groupama Stadium. The international friendly will do very well for Germany since they have been needing tough matches to prepare for the EUROS. The team news has some fans hopeful while others are worried about France, who have played two FIFA World Cup finals in a row.

Germany receives France in its lowest hours as a national team. After the heavy defeat (1-4) against Japan and the dismissal of coach Flick, they receive France with the need to win the friendly to calm the waters. France, which has just won its five qualifying matches for the Euro Cup, presents itself as the toughest possible rival in the most uncomfortable scenario.

For this match, Didier Deschamps, French coach, has decided not to risk Kylian Mbappe. This is because the Frenchman came out injured in the last match and the coach does not want to put his great star at risk in a match that is friendly for both of them. Germany comes out with news in Dortmund. The presence of Tah and Florian Wirtz stands out. Voller goes with: Ter Stegen; Henrichs, Antonio Rüdiger, Sule, Tah, Can, Gundogan; Sane, Florian Wirtz, Gnabry and Muller. Joshua Kimmich may likely not play in the game as he has seen less minutes with Bayern Munich. A player many German fans want to see return is Toni Kroos. The German midfielder is still one of the best players that can play for Germany. Players like Robert Andrich and Kai Havertz are other names German fans want to see. Jamal Musiala will likely not play in this match even though he has been a star for Bayern Munich this season so far. Germany hadn't officialized their new coach yet, but rumors suggest that Julian Nagelsmann will take in charge.

Germany fans are very worried about playing against France after suffering a 4-1 loss in the last friendly. The match was played at the Volkswagen Arena. Japan took the lead in the 11th minute thanks to a goal by Junya Ito. Leroy Sane equalized the match at the 19th minute, but it wasn't enough to stop Japan from dominating the match. In the 22nd minute, Ayase Ueda scored Japan's second goal thanks to an assist by Ito. In the 90th minute, Takuma Asano scored the third to make it 3-1. In the 92nd minute, Ao Tanaka scored the fourth goal of the day, which was 4-1. The two late goals were assisted by Takefusa Kubo which concluded an embarrassing result for the former World Champions.

Japan have beaten Germany before this friendly match as they faced off in the FIFA World Cup in 2022. The two national teams were in the same group along with Spain and Costa Rica. Germany and Japan face each other in their first match of the tournament. Germany scored the first goal of the match as Ilkay Gundogan scored in the 33rd minute. Japan turned it around in the second half as Ritsu Doan in the 75th minute scored the equalizer. In the 83rd minute, Takuma Asano scored the second goal for Japan to make it 2-1. It was one of the upsets of the tournament as many expected Germany to win this match but Japan showcased their levels. Japan ended up topping the group as they finished with six points. Japan also defeated Spain, the other favorite to win the group. Gorup E finished with Japan in first place with six points; Spain finished second with four points and plus six goal difference. Germany finished third with four points with a plus one goal difference. Costa Rica finished last with three points.

Germany has been winless in the last five matches, which were friendlies. Before the 4-1 loss to Japan, Germany lost 2-0 against Colombia. That match was played at the Veltins Arena as goals from Luis Diaz and Juan Cuadrado scored the two goals for Colombia against Germany. Before that match, Germany lost 1-0 against Poland thanks to a goal by Jakub Kiwior in the 31st minute.

Germany also drew 3-3 against Ukraine, which was the only game in the last that wasn't a loss. Germany scored in the 6th minute of the match as Niclas Füllkrug scored the opener. Tsigankov scored in the 19th minute to equalize the match. In the 23rd minute, Rudiger's own goal gave Ukraine the 2-1 lead. Tsigankov scored another in the 56th minute to make it 3-2. Havertz and Kimmich scored two late goals to make it 3-3. Germany also lost 3-2 to Belgium the match before.
