Real Madrid's number 10 has recently talked about his contract renewal at ‘Los Blancos’ and he also said which teammates he misses the most.

37 year-old Croatian decided to stay at Real Madrid for at least one more season, despite big offers received from Saudi and many options to leave Spain and try different leagues. Modric revealed in a recent interview that he stayed at Real Madrid despite the hard competition to be a starter in the first team, as Real Madrid has highly rated young players like Bellingham, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Valverde, and some more.

“Real Madrid wanted me to stay and I wanted that too. My only condition to stay was that they perceive me as a competitive player, and don't keep me because of what I've done in the past. They told me nothing was going to change, that's why I signed”, Luka Modric said.

“Of course I miss my former teammates”

Luka Modric mentioned in the interview with Sportske Novosti that he misses a lot some of his former teammates. “Of course I miss them (Karim Benzema and Casemiro) because we've spent so many years together. I feel the same nostalgia with all the departures of my colleagues and friends, like Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Cristiano Ronaldo”.
