The Sport newspaper reported that president Joan Laporta and coach Xavi Hernández are considering ending Sergiño Dest's contract and allowing him to become a free agent. The defender works to stay at the club next season.

The Spanish press has reported that several offers have come from MLS clubs to sign Sergiño Dest but the player has rejected them because he wants to continue playing in Europe and does not plan to return to the United States.

Now Sergiño Dest's agent is working to find a new team for the player. A few months ago Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund were interested in signing the footballer but after his poor performance with FC Barcelona they are no longer thinking of buying him.
