The ill-advised decision of France Football is still remembered, by excluding the captain of the Argentine team from the award ceremony.
Weeks ago, France Football magazine announced the 30 names that are the candidates to win the Ballon d'Or in 2022. To everyone's surprise, Lionel Messi, top winner of the individual award, was not even nominated among the top 30 of the world. Now, the French media is ridiculous with his recent post.
Although the evaluation of the Ballon d'Or is for what was presented in the 2021-2022 season, Lionel deserved a position among the candidates. Although it was not his best year, what he showed with Argentina plus what he did at Paris Saint-Germain should have been enough to be a candidate.
