It is an operation with several protagonists... Dybala is positioned as the main character because the Argentine, currently a free agent after leaving Juventus at the end of last season, has been strongly linked with a move to Jose Mourinho's Roma. Until Manchester United seem to have jumped into the middle of the bidding for the Argentine. With Cristiano's imminent departure, the English club is interested in Dybala as a replacement for the Portuguese, as reported by ESPN.

Mourinho's Roma have also thought of the Argentine as a replacement for Zaniolo, for whom Juventus are offering 50 million euros.

Manchester United have also shown interest and see the player capable of replacing Cristiano Ronaldo should he leave. The Old Trafford club already came really close to getting the Argentine in previous summers. Interestingly, Ronaldo urged Dybala to move to Old Trafford, when United considered an approach for him in 2019, but the Argentine opted to stay in Turin.

But United are not looking at an easy transfer because Mourinho wants to take the now former Juventus star as Zaniolo's replacement and are ready moving in that direction. The former Juventus player has been mentioned for weeks for the Giallorossi and, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Argentine is the only player that the Portuguese manager considers necessary to make the leap in quality that will put them in a position to fight for more titles after winning the Conference League.

Juventus making moves

Juventus, in turn, wants to fill Dybala's void. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus is considering offering 50 million euros to decisively open negotiations between clubs for Zaniolo. Roma, who asked for 60 million euros at first, could sit down to negotiate both a loan with an obligation to buy and a multi-year payment to try to close the transfer.
