The basketball player LeBron James is one of the most prosperous sportsmen of all time with a fortune estimated by Forbes of about 800 million dollars, a sum that has allowed him to have different types of investments.
And one of those businesses has been soccer, but not in the MLS, which is the North American soccer league, but in the Premier League, where the player has a strong investment in one of the most respected clubs in the tournament: Liverpool.
In 2011 the basketball player became one of the owners of the team acquiring a 2% stake in the team however the player was increasing his investment in the club and since James is one of the partners of the club, the team has won the League Cup, Premier League, Champions League, and Club World Cup. But in their last competition, they did not fare so well and to their misfortune, they lost again against Real Madrid.
The first time LeBron James invested in Liverpool he did it for the sum of 6 million dollars, but after renewing his investment for the sum of 40 million euros in Fenway Sports Group, the firm that links him to the English club, now the American owns a larger part of the team. In any case, in the campaign that has just ended, the Reds failed to win the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool lost in the final of the tournament to Real Madrid, who, with a goal from Vinicius, won their 14th title in the competition.
