The FIFA International break in September has already come to an end and club activities are returning for the next season. Inter Miami and Lionel Messi will have important commitments to play in the following weeks with the aim of placing themselves in the best possible way and trying to establish themselves in the playoffs. The Florida club hopes to achieve the most points to aspire to a place in the conference that gives access to the postseason in the MLS.

The last few months for David Beckham's franchise have been incredible. It all started with the former PSG footballer's announcement that he would go to play there, shortly after the agreement was closed with Gerardo Martino to be the coach and then Sergio Busquets joined. The reality is that Lionel Messi has been key in multiple conquests, one of them mainly the Leagues Cup, where he was a figure and gave Inter Miami the first official title.

Currently, those from Florida are second to last in the Eastern Conference with 28 points, six more than Toronto, the last in the table. But of course, their sights are set on the high zone positions, which they are targeting to achieve a ticket to the playoffs. In 22 days, Messi and Inter Miami will play 7 matches that will practically be considered “finals”, since there is a lot at stake in each of these commitments. Atlanta United and the final of the US Open Cup are among the most complex commitments that Messi has.

What does Inter Miami need to reach the playoffs?

Inter Miami is 14th, six points behind DC United, which occupies 9th place. And ahead, Messi's team has eight games (one more than the rest due to a postponed game): Atlanta United, Toronto, Orlando City, New York City, Chicago, Cincinnati and two against Charlotte. With 24 points at stake and only six behind 9th and 12 behind 7th, Nashville, the hope is more intact than ever. The big question is knowing how many of those games Messi will be able to play.
