In a interview for The Players' Tribune, Giovanni Reyna, a soccer player who is a member of the United States National Team, told part of his family's story where he revealed that he had to live a hard time due to the illness of his brother Jack and it was Sergio Agüero who gave him one of the greatest joys that he could share with him before his death. To get into context, we must remember that Reyna is the son of former soccer players Danielle and Claudio Reyna, who stood out in our country.

My competitiveness, my fight, all of that came from trying to beat Jack. He was the perfect brother. I was always a shy kid, so he included me in anything he did with his friends, which meant I got used to playing against kids who were several years older. That gave me confidence (…) When he realized that I was going to be better than him, he pushed me to become the best I could be, Gio began.

However, in 2010, Jack was diagnosed with brain cancer, causing Giovanni's life to change completely. “He started getting sick and gaining weight because of the chemotherapy. He could still walk and swim, but he got tired very quickly. It was then that I realized that this could end very badly”, he said. Despite the dark outlook, Gio's family experienced a moment of light and happiness thanks to Manchester City, a club of which everyone is a fan, after having won the title in 2011/12.

The story of Gio and Manchester City champion

In our room no one smiled anymore. I felt bad for Jack. He was so sick at that time that he could not walk or talk. Now I wasn't going to see City win the league either, Gio recalled when the match against QPR was still 1-2. However, City quickly turned the score around 3-2 and recalled:We went crazy in the room. “We were jumping, screaming, celebrating and hugging each other. "Jack smiled and started laughing. We realized he was celebrating the goal. He was as happy as we were", the playmaker concluded.
