Manchester City has been one of the protagonist clubs of the transfer market in the last decade and this year hasn't been the exception. They have invested 120 M€ and are looking for a midfielder to backup that part of the team.

After Gündogan's departure to Barcelona, ‘The Citizens’ hired Mateo Kovacic for 29 M€, however, Pep Guardiola is looking for someone else in this position. The club has just won the Premier League and the Champions League, if they want to repeat this achievements, they will need many players in every position to make changes and not keep playing with the same players in all the matches.

That has never been a problem for Manchester City, but we must add that Kevin De Bruyne suffered an injury and will be out for 3-4 months. The midfielders that are available in the squad are Bernado Silva, Rodi, Kalvin Phillips, Mateo Kovacic and the 20 years old James McAtee.

Manchester City decided to offer Wolverhampton 55 M€ for Matheus Nunes. The player want to play in Manchester, but the club doesn't want to sell him for that price, so the negotiations are expected to continue, according to Fabrizio Romano. The portuguese is the priority for Pep Guardiola now. Only a week until the transfer market closes, so they will have to negotiate quickly if they want to sign the 24 years old midfielder.

What are the numbers of Matheus Nunes in the last season?

The Portuguese played 29 games in the Premier League, he scored 1 goal and 1 assist. He made 808 correct pases (83%) and he made 67 successful tackles. Let's remember that Matheus arrived last season from Sporting Lisboa for 49 M€.
