Not so long ago, everyone thought football's new dynamic duo was at PSG. When Neymar and Mbappé arrived in 2017 the French fans were thrilled about what could these two achieve for the new biggest team in France. Neymar was already a football star: he came from Barcelona, where he even won the treble (domestic league and cup championship and the Champions League the same season).

On the other hand, Mbappé came on loan from Mónaco. There he already proved his potential: he was a key part of the 2016-2017 squad that won the French league. Also, he had outstanding participation in the Champions League. In the Finals, he only failed to score in one match: the first leg of the semifinals against Juventus. He even sent Manchester City home after the round of 16.

Do they get along or not, the truth about Mbappe and Neymar that causes surprise in Europe
And when they arrived at PSG in the same season, their partnership showed results right away. The Parisian club won all the domestic trophies (Ligue, Cup, Supercup, and Ligue Cup). Neymar scored 28 goals in 30 matches and Mbappé scored 21 in 43 games. But what started as a fairytale now seems to be a nightmare.

After 2018, Mbappé changed forever: he won the World Cup with France and ever since then there were rumors about his move to Real Madrid. Last summer he ditched them for a Contract Extension at PSG and it was reported he gained much more control over the team. They even said he didn't care if Neymar was out of the team... And that's where the feud began.

Luis Campos tells the truth

Amid those rumors, PSG's football advisor talked to the press about the relationship between these football stars: "No. I even heard that Kylian had demanded that we take Neymar out. No. We count on all three (Neymar, Messi, and Mbappé). (...) Neymar is a very good player, there is no doubt about that. And above all, everything I heard before about him, I must've listened wrong because he always arrives on time. I see a Neymar involved in the team project, in the club project."
