Manchester City is maintaining a perfect start to the Premier League season. The reigning champions are leading and looking to continue their success. Pep Guardiola's team defeated Sheffield United this weekend with goals from Erling Haaland and Rodri.

With the transfer window about to close in just a few days, teams are still searching for reinforcements to strengthen their squads. Now, the Citizens are trying to secure one more signing to finalize their team for the 2023-24 season.

With this said, City is pursuing midfielder Matheus Nunes, who currently plays for Wolverhampton. Nunes' performances have impressed the champions, and they are aiming to make one more signing after already investing almost $150 million in the signings of Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol.

City still negotiating

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nunes has already agreed personal terms with Etihad. However, negotiations are ongoing as Manchester City has offered $60 million after a previous offer was rejected by Wolves. Romano also indicates that the player is eager to join City. Nevertheless, in case another offer is rejected by The Wanderers, the citizens would walk away. As of now, nothing is confirmed.
