Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, declared this Thursday that "there will be no Super League in the short, medium or long term, because legally it is not possible" and assured that if Real Madrid and Barcelona want to have their own competition they can start it "tomorrow." same, but outside the FIFA environment and without the income of the Champions League.

The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) considered this Thursday that FIFA and UEFA rules on the prior authorization of club football competitions, such as the Super League, violate Union Law. The highest administrative body of the EU pointed out that UEFA and FIFA abused their "dominant position" in their actions against the creation of the controversial soccer Super League, led by Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Tebas criticized the press release issued by the CJEU after analyzing the complete sentence and described it as "something unfortunate if the resolution is read later because it is not accurate." For Tebas "the judicial path of what is being proposed has a long way to go because it refers many issues to the commercial court" and, therefore, the creation of the Super League is somewhat complicated.

"On this issue, several European commissioners have been very clear. If the Spanish government wants to maintain a not so clear position, we will wait. What is clear is that if Real Madrid and Barcelona want to hold their competition outside the FIFA environment, they can do so tomorrow if want, but they could not have access to the income from the Champions League," he confessed. "They would play, yes, a classic every day, but staying out of the football ecosystem. Florentino never loses and a story is built about something that is not going to be. This morning I said that I was betting twenty-five dinners that there would be no Super League in the next few years. Now I'm up to a hundred dinners," he said.

The conclusion of Tebas

Tebas also responded to Bernd Reichart, CEO of A22, the Super League promoter company, who stated after the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), that they have "won the right to compete" and that fans will be able to see free matches. Finally, Javier Tebas assured that in the future a championship like the Super League "will not be able to coexist" with the rest of the national championships.
