With the World Cup a mere 23 days away Lionel Messi and the whole of Argentina are sure to be worried about the backbone of their star-studded team. With Lionel Messi in terrific form, both domestically and in Europe the country is excited for the defending Copa America champions to bring the World Cup trophy home from Qatar 2022.

Lisandro Martinez played just 45 minutes in Manchester United's 3-0 win over Sherriff Tiraspol at Old Trafford before being replaced by Harry Maguire at half-time. Martinez has a great playing record having only missed 19 games through injury since 2019.

The Former Ajax center-back has been a revelation for the Red Devils this season and has helped solidify Erik Ten Hag's position as manager at the Premier League's most successful club and is feared injured. But club doctors in Manchester aren't making much of Lisandro's injury so there's a chance the sturdy Argentine will be back in action this weekend.

Tough schedule ahead of Qatar 2022 

Several players throughout Europe's biggest leagues have complained of a ‘crazy’ playing schedule ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This is the first time a World Cup is being played in ‘winter’ which became necessary due to soaring temperatures in the Emirate during the traditional summer months.
