Liverpool star Mohamed Salah dedicated a heartfelt Christmas message to the death and destruction that has befallen Palestine due to the conflict with Israel. The Reds striker, whose religion is Muslim, asked the world not to forget the pain of families in the Gaza Strip who have lost one or more of their family members due to the situation in that part of the world.

"With the brutal war raging in the Middle East, especially the death and destruction in Gaza, this year we come to Christmas with heavy hearts and share the grief of those families who are mourning the loss of their loved ones," he wrote on his X account. He even asked humanity not to get used to the suffering of the Palestinians, who have been massacred in different parts of Gaza without distinction: men, women, children and the elderly have been annihilated by the Israeli army.

"Please don't forget them and don't get used to their suffering. Merry Christmas," Salah closed in a stark message at a time when the Western world is celebrating. According to international reports, more than 10,000 Palestinians are estimated to have been killed in the conflict between the Hamas terrorist organisation and the Israeli government.

Salah's record

The 31-year-old's post reached more than 15 million views, more than 30,000 retweets and over 22,000 likes, so his message had a brutal impact. Mohamed Salah has just scored the weekend's equaliser against Arsenal to take his tally to 151 goals and move into the top ten of the Premier League's all-time goalscoring charts.
