Paul Scholes has always been critical of his old club. He doesn't mind if people don't agree with him, he always says what's in his mind. For example, he actually criticized the Manchester United players for their attitued and even call some of their performances embarrassing. But who can say he isn't entitled to it?

So far Paul Scholes has been seen as Erik ten Hag's favorites - David de Gea and Casemiro. He believes that the Dutchman can't do his possession-based football. But it's not the first time he says something like that since he also thinks Louis Van Gaal also failed to do that at Manchester United. Just because this game is about winning over how you get the result.

Also, it has clearly shown how difficult it can be for Manchester United players to adapt to his kind of playing style. The game against Brentford showed everyone that this could be a very long process. The two players Scholes doesn't think can play ball

Both Raphael Varane and David de Gea were recently subject to Paul Scholes's criticism. In an interview, he said, "Raphael Varane, as great a player as he’s been, is not a great footballer. David De Gea is not a great footballer". Scholes is not alone in his criticism of de Gea. The Spaniard has been mistake-prone in recent years and many fans believe that he is no longer the best goalkeeper in the world. Raphael Varane, on the other hand, is a player who Scholes is been critical of ever since he joined last year.
