Real Madrid had a terrible 3-2 loss against Atletico Madrid in the Classic Metropolitan Derby, losing their undefeated streak but still holding the third position of the standings. During and after the match was over, the critics towards Alberoja Rojas and the referee’s staff were made, as fans and Real Madrid said they didn’t do their job well in the matchup.

Throughout the matchup, there were many controversial plays such as Camavinga’s goal that was denied as they ruled it out as an offside, and also Gimenez on his red card that wasn’t called by the referee’s staff, are the two controversies Real Madrid is pushing for against the CTA (Referees Committee).

Real Madrid’s executives aren’t happy at all with the way Alberoja Roja and his staff played at the Metropolitan Derby, now, the Valdebebas suit guys know what would be their main objective throughout the rest of the year and the season, and will be against the CTA in order to reform the Institute for a better future in the European competitions.

Real Madrid has pushed for this change in the Referee’s Committee long before the Negreiras Case was in the map, but when every team in the Spanish league found out that FC Barcelona was allegedly paying over seven million euros to Jose Maria Enriquez Negreiras, former vice president of the Referees Committee from 1994 to 2018, the demand for an exhaustive change in this institute was even more present.

How will they fight it?

Sevilla, Espanyol, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have been the top four Spanish clubs that demand a response by La Liga’s president, Javier Tebas, who also hopes the resolution of the Negreiras Case comes to an end and expects that FC Barcelona gives a statement on the intern investigation they said it would be started.

Real Madrid won’t stand with arms crossed and hopes until something happens, as they will still push on CTA, La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation to make important changes in the infrastructure of the referees. Spanish news media, MARCA, has informed that Real Madrid seeks to cut every connection between Clos Gomez and the VAR Institute, as the first actions to be taken in order to make major changes in the Referee's system.
