The former defender of the Mexican national team and FC Barcelona, Rafaél Márquez was once the maximum authority inside the dressing room of El Tri since all his teammates and the press, along with the fans, saw him as the one who made the important decisions in the team because he was the captain of the Mexican team, but above all because he always conducted himself with a lot of responsibility.

However, since his retirement, the player has had a more relaxed attitude and has been open to the media. And for some time now he has been giving interviews to share his experiences in the teams in which he played.

He was recently interviewed on YouTube in an irreverent program in which the player made strong statements about Giovani dos Santos and why he failed to stand out in soccer, however, he attracted the spotlight when he talked about the situation between Gerardo Martino and Javier Hernandez, about which he gave his opinion and explained his point of view on whether Chicharito should return to play for El Tri.

What Rafa Márquez said about Chicharito

In the interview, the ex-footballer told that he has a WhatsApp group with Oswaldo Sánchez, Pavel Pardo, Duilio Davino, and Braulio Luna. When the interviewer asked him if "Chicharito" was in that group, Márquez replied: "No, not divas", in a joking tone.

But when asked if he would take Javier Hernandez to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the former defender said yes, since the player is El Tri's greatest scorer. "I would take him to Qatar. He is the top scorer of the national team and right now, the way the Mexican team is going, we can't even score a goal against the rainbow", were the words of the former player.
