When Portugal national football team touched down in Qatar, the intention was clear, to win the coveted prize (FIFA world cup trophy) but unity is needed in the team to achieve the tall dream. There are reports of frictions in the Portuguese camp before the tournament in Qatar, as a video surfaced online where Cristiano Ronaldo greeted his compatriot Bruno Fernandes.

In the video which went viral, Fernandes didn't responded well to the greeting which left the superstar surprised with the action amid his strained relationship with Manchester United and Manager Erik Ten Hag. Many analysed the video and took sides. However, a report from Portugal dispelled news of altercation between the two players, adding that it was a prank.

Similarly, there was another video, which shows Cristiano in awkward altercation with another teammate, Joao Cancelo as he grabbed him on head while trying to play a peacemaker role. However, the Manchester City looked frustrated, fuming and was ready to explode. The Portuguese Captain later shrugged it off, saying there was no altercation on the training ground.

The team's unity was not tested during the first game against Ghana despite individual errors that almost saw the West African country grabbing an equalizer in the closing stages of the match. Even Cristiano who had looked dejected at the Goalkeeper, Diogo Costa's gaffe was seen celebrating at the end of the game on the pitch.
