Manchester City made it’s sixth victory of the Premier League’s tournament yesterday against West Ham United in a pretty tight game, where the Citizens started the match losing, but just right after the beginning of the second half, Pep Guardiola’s team managed to score three goals and leaving the hammers without hopes of winning the match.

Doku, Silva and Haaland were the three protagonists yesterday at London Stadium but the Argentinian young star, Julian Alvarez, was present in all three scoring drives.

In the first goal, made by Jeremy Doku, Julian Alvarez was the one who opened the attack in order to assist Doku and eventually, score. On the second goal, made by Bernardo Silva, Alvarez was also present, making the assist, and for the third and definitive goal scored by Erling Haaland, guess who was also there, that’s right, Julian La ArañaAlvarez.

Pep Guardiola watched Alvarez’s performance throughout the whole game and even praised his actions at the end of the match, “He is learning a lot to move in the gaps, he is a threat with goals and assists... The work ethic! We are delighted that the club brought him in last year”.

Alvarez bright future with Man City

We had doubts because he came from Bolivia with jet lag. He was very tired the day before the game, but he felt better and we talked to him last night and told us he felt good.”, Pep Guardiola said on Julian Alvarez’s chances to be Manchester City’s first team for the West Ham United matchup.

The Catalunya manager explained his intentions to grant Alvarez the first team for the fifth consecutive occasion, as Gündogan is no longer on the club and Kevin de Bruyne was ruled out of the game due to his injuries that placed him on the injury reserve. La Araña won an opportunity and he capitalized it.

Alvarez’s performance in the Premier League (two goals and three assists) has demonstrated that he is a fundamental player in Pep Guardiola’s plan. Hes been present on the outstanding 5-1 match against Fulham; he was first team on the defeat versus Arsenal in the Community Shield’s final and the victory over Sevilla at the finale of the Europe SuperCoap, and he is a major nominee for the Balon d'Or award.
