Klopp has admitted that he regrets not signing Tadic in 2018. The Southampton forward was one of the best players in the Premier League that season and Klopp believes that he would have been a perfect fit for Liverpool. Tadic has since moved to Ajax, where he has become one of the best players in the world precisely that year. The Dutch champions were amazing and even get into the UEFA Champions League semi-finals that season.

In an interview with a Dutch Broadcaster, Klopp was asked about his admiration for Tadic and how he regrets not being able to sign him for Liverpool. In the summer of 2018, Liverpool was interested in signing Dusan Tadic from Southampton. However, a deal couldn't be agreed and Tadic ended up joining Ajax instead. It's clear that Klopp rates Tadic highly and it's easy to see why.

The Serbian international has been one of the best players in the Eredivisie over the past seasons as he has played a key role in Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-finals last season. At 33 years old, Tadic is already past his prime and he would have been a great addition to Liverpool's squad. However, it wasn't meant to be and Klopp will have to look elsewhere as he looks to build a squad capable of getting back on track in the Premier League.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he regrets not signing Dusan Tadic from Southampton in the summer transfer window. "I was very angry with myself when he went to Ajax because I was also interested in him," Klopp told during an interview. "I love him as a player".

What could have been if Liverpool had signed Tadic

Many Liverpool fans have often wondered what could have been if the club had signed Dusan Tadic from Southampton back in 2018. But one thing is for sure, right now Liverpool would love to have a player like the Serbian right now since the Reds' midfield has been in crisis this season.
