Messi is the new sensation in the MLS and everybody wants to see him, but Barca barely has the public to cheer them on.

Lionel Messi’s departure from FC Barcelona was a moment that no one could understand, everybody thought that we would see the end of his career with the team that opened the gates to him when no one else would, even in his hometown Rosario, Argentina.

Times went by and now Messi is World Champion and has one of the most expensive contracts in sports history with Inter Miami in the Major League Soccer (MLS). Everybody wants to see the Argentinian astro make magic on the pitch, even famous celebrities like Owen Wilson, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez went to see them when they faced Los Angeles FC and won 3-1.

But actually, if you want to see Messi, it is kinda pretty expensive. When the Argentinian astro made his debut in the MLS the tickets went sky rocket high, reaching over $10 thousand dollars on resale.

According to the website TicketiQ the resale ticket price in order to see Messi’s Inter Miami in the 2023 season final and the rest of the 2024 has increased by 459%, you could find a single ticket for $152 dlls but now they are up to $850 dlls. The original price in the TicketMaster website is between $160 to $2,000 dollars.

What about Barca?

Since Messi's departure from the Blaugrana team, Barcelona drastically went down under Ronald Koeman's management. They were eliminated from UEFA’s Champions League group stage in the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons.

Nevertheless, Xavi Hernandez’s arrival to be the new FC Barcelona’s manager has increased the culé team performance, being champions in La Liga’s last edition and making a great debut in the opening week of the UCL outstanding Royal Antwerp for a 4-0 victory.

But during yesterday’s match broadcast many holes were seen on the Olimpic Lluis Companys Stadium seats, is Barcelona losing fans?

Many say they are not comfortable with their second home, and are still waiting for the reopening of the new Spotify Camp Nou. The official number of attendance for Barcelona's debut in the UEFA Champions League opening week was 40,989 fans, however, the Olimpic Lluis Stadium has a maximum capcity for 55,926 people.
