More news about Manchester United:

The Red Devils have long dreamed of obtaining the Dutch midfielder who plays for FC Barcelona and therefore have mounted a whole operation to get him out of that team and integrate him into their ranks, in which he would help a lot to the team's attack as De Jong has great handling of the midfield and is creative in many of the attacks that the culé team makes on the field, so he is the object of desire at Old Trafford.

His playmaking ability would be the secret weapon Manchester United needs to regain the prominence the club lost with the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. And a midfield with De Jong in the attack filtering passes to CR7 would be something that United fans would be dying to see, after knowing the performance of the Dutch midfielder on the pitch. However, there is a strong motive that would put an end to the transfer.

Manchester United's million-dollar bid for Frenkie de Jong is on the table, but there is a strong motive that would put an end to the transfer

According to the international press, Manchester United is willing to pay 60 million euros for Frenkie de Jong, according to Transfermarkt. And it seems that nothing would stand between the current FC Barcelona midfielder and Manchester United except for a strong reason, which would scupper the whole million-euro deal and complicate life for the Red Devils, a club that has long sought a renaissance it has failed to achieve.

And that strong reason would be Manchester United's current situation, as the team will not play in the UEFA Champions League for having finished in 6th place in the Premier League, so it will play in the UEFA Europa League instead. And this is something that De Jong does not like at all since he wants to play in elite tournaments and knows well that in many respects, the UEFA Europa League is a kind of consolation prize for teams that did not reach the Champions League.
