Cristiano Ronaldo and Erik Ten Haag are at a crossroads. The striker and the manager are not in the greatest of relations and following Cristiano's desire to leave United and his many issues with the team, Ten Haag has chosen Antony over the Portuguese. 

The ‘red devils’ will have a complicated schedule after the international break and they are in desperate need of Ronaldo's goals as they want to keep their momentum up and move forward on the table. However, it's been evident that CR7 and Ten Haag have a complicated relationship.

Ronaldo's season so far has been slow and dubious. Cristiano has 8 games played and a single goal thanks to a penalty that he took in Europa League. He's not been his best self ever since the start of the season and the transfer window did not play out as he wanted. 

Patrice Evra spoke on an interview and stated that Ten Haag should make peace with Ronaldo as he's much needed for what's coming for United. The french international and Champions League winner says that sooner rather than later, ‘the club will be begging for Ron to stay’

It's clear that Ronaldo is not an important piece for Ten Haag, even as he's said so many times. His actions speak louder than his words and leaving Ronaldo on the bench is, as Patrice Evra said, a ‘massive statement’. Thus, Ronaldo wanted to leave and still wants to do so, as he wants to go to a team that will allow him to compete and reach the UEFA 2024 Euro. A club that can meet these expectations and has shown interest on the striker is Napoli, that's currently the Serie A leader.
