Real Madrid will have a lot of work to do during these months, since one of the objectives of the institution will be to reform its First Division team. This is due to the fact that the squad currently has several veteran players who are not giving the level they have been showing and young blood is becoming more and more necessary.

One of these cases was that of Luka Modric, a midfielder who managed to win everything possible in the White House and who, at 37, is about to end his contract at the end of the season. The truth is that various rumors placed the Croatian in Saudi Arabia, precisely in Al-Nassr, the team that signed Cristiano Ronaldo.

And it is that the Portuguese himself had expressed to Modric his desire to play together again and this could have come true if the Madrid player accepted the proposal to go to Saudi Arabia and defend the colors of Al-Nassr. However, it was Modric himself who denied this situation and revealed where he wants to play next season.

"Will we play together again? I do not know what else to say. Everyone asks me that, I think I'm getting bored with the same answers. You know what my wish is, I hope it comes true and it is to stay at Real Madrid", Modric said at a press conference prior to the duel for the Qualifying rounds for Euro 2024 where he will face Wales.

Modric on a possible retirement

At 37, it is true that it is impossible not to think about Luka's retirement, however he made it clear: “Retire from Madrid and from the national team at the same time? That would be ideal, but we'll see what happens. I love football very much, I enjoy it and that is one of the reasons why I put up with so much. I enjoy it from the beginning, football is everything to me."
