Darwin Nunez has been at Liverpool for just over four months now, and in that time he's had the privilege of training alongside Virgil van Dijk. The Uruguayan forward has nothing but praise for the Dutchman, admitting that he's a "monster" in training and that he can't get past him. Nunez also spoke about how much he's enjoying his time at Liverpool, and how he's hoping to make an impact on the first team in the future.

The Uruguayan youngster joined the Reds last summer from Benfica and he is yet to make a great difference for the club. He arrived for a 100 million dollar fee and has been harshly criticized for his lack of goals. Even so the 23-year-old forward has been highly rated by the club's staff and Jurgen Klopp himself.

The difficulty of training with Van Dijk

The Uruguayan striker said as follows: “Van Dijk is a monster, sometimes I get hot (angry) because I can’t pass him in training, he puts an arm in me and takes me out. He is a very important piece for Liverpool, and he is also a reference, he is always talking to everyone, he is very funny and it is good that there are people like that in the dressing room".  Van Dijk is an incredible athlete and a real monster in training, as Nunez himself admits. With that level of dedication and commitment, it's no wonder that van Dijk has become one of the best defenders in the world.
