Lionel Messi and Ronaldo are still being compared on every detail.

Lionel Messi is already 36 years old, and Cristiano Ronaldo turns 39 in just 3 months, however, both players are still among the best in the world, and naturally, they continue to be compared for every smallest detail. Now, a beautiful act by Messi has been taken as a low blow to Cristiano, on social media.

Lionel Messi became World Champion with the Argentina National Team in Qatar, fulfilling one of his biggest dreams, and now he has decided to auction off his used shirts to contribute to charitable causes. The Inter Miami star is expected to earn millions of euros, unlike Cristiano Ronaldo who did the same.

According to information from Sotheby's: “Lionel Messi will auction all the shirts he wore in the World Cup in Qatar and it is estimated that he will raise approximately 9 million euros. “A large part of the proceeds will be donated to the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital.” The 10 of the Argentine National Team has received applause for this noble action.

Why is it a low blow?

While Messi will obtain around 9 million, Cristiano Ronaldo did the same years ago, but got way less. According to Primicias: “The shirt signed by Cristiano Ronaldo was sold for 70,000 UAH (the local Ukrainian currency) at the charity auction, which adds up to about USD 2,331 at the current exchange rate.” This was in 2022, in order to obtain funds to buy medicines for the Ukrainian military.
