Lionel Messi and PSG decided to part ways this season. The Argentine left the French club after two seasons, where he managed to win in France, but did not achieve his great goal, which was the UEFA Champions League, along with two great stars like Mbappe and Lionel Messi. However, relations between the fans and the Argentine were not the best, mainly since the 2022 World Cup.

In an interview with the OLGA channel, Lionel Messi spoke about how he was the only player from the entire National Team who won the World Cup, who did not receive recognition from his club after winning the 2022 World Cup. In fact, he was not honored either. After this, the president of PSG did not hesitate to respond to the player after his most recent statements and confessed the real reason why Lionel Messi was not honored.

As expected, his statements spread around the world and reached the ears of Nasser Al Khelaifi, the president of the Parisian club, who picked up the gauntlet and responded in conversation with the Leparisien newspaper: “There is a lot of talk outside, I don't know what he said or what he stopped saying. As everyone saw, we even published a video, we celebrated Messi in training (after winning the World Cup) and we also recognized him in private.”

What else did the president of PSG say?

“But with all due respect, we are a French club. Of course, it was difficult to celebrate in the stadium. We must respect the country he defeated, his fellow Frenchmen and our supporters. But he was, and remains, an extraordinary player; “We were proud to have him here,” the manager noted. After spending his holidays in Argentina, Lionel Messi had returned to France to make himself available to the club in January. When he arrived at the training center, his teammates made him a hall of honor and gave him a prize. Something different from his teammates, who were received like kings in each of their teams.
