Lionel Messi has been the target of countless rumors after he won his eighth Ballon d'Or. Within the statements, the Argentine star did not hesitate to talk about FC Barcelona as 'the club he loves', according to Diario AS. So rumors began about the supposed return of the Argentine star to the Blaugrana club. There are several versions of his supposed arrival in Europe.

One of them was the one that reported an alleged conversation between Messi and Joan Laporta, president of the Catalan club. In which a tribute match was being prepared for the 10 of the Argentina National Team. Which left the Messilibers expectant in what seems to be a dream come true. However, the footballer himself left a more than forceful position on said rumor.

And in one of his Instagram stories, Messi shared said note to say 'You lie... once again'. Something that makes it clear that the Argentine has not had any meeting with the Blaugrana president. Now his present is Inter Miami, a club in which he has cataloged the history of the Ballon d'Or gala as being the only non-European team to have a player who has won this distinction.

Messi delays his return

Meanwhile, at the Ballon d'Or ceremony, the Albiceleste star made it clear that there is still no exact date for his return to the field. So the press will still be waiting to see what his next step will be after he won the prestigious distinction in France. It is now a cause for celebration for the Messi family and the MLS club that an important award has been achieved.
