Everton manager Frank Lampard has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese superstar scored his 700th goal for the club. The 37-year-old netted a late goal on the first-half penalty in Manchester United's 2-1 win over Everton on Sunday to take his tally to an incredible 700 goals, getting even further from soccer legends like Romario who scored 689 goals or Pele (684).

He is the only Portuguese player to ever have this tally. And Lampard, who played against Ronaldo at Chelsea during his first spell at Manchester United was quick to congratulate his former rival. Even though he was saddened due to Everton's performance against Erik ten Hag's team.
