Liverpool went through defensive problems last season and is looking to improve them with a young player that can be useful in the present season and in the future of the club. There have been many rumors about defenders coming to ‘The Reds’ this season but no one has signed.

In the last days, Liverpool made an offer to Bayer Leverkusen to have Piero Hincapie in their squad. They offered 40 M€, but the Germans rejected the offer and said they wouldn't let him go, unless they made an offer of 80 M€ to keep the Ecuatorian, according to ‘Daily Express’.

Liverpool has 4 centre backs in their squad, Joe Gomez, Konate, Matip and Virgil Van Dijk, the last one I mentioned is the only one who is a confirmed starter, the captain of the Netherlands National team and ‘The Reds’. For this reason the club is very interested in the 21 years old Ecuadorian, they want the duo Van Dijk - Hincapie.

Who is Piero Hincapie?

Piero is the starting centre back and a key piece in the Ecuadorian Team. He began his career in Independiente del Valle, then he was hired by Talleres in Argentina and in 2021 he arrived in Germany, to Bayer Leverkusen. He has more than 100 games played with clubs and more than 25 with the National team and he is only 21 years old.
