He's on the bench at United, he started the game and now responsible for England's failure

Gareth Southgate played Roberto Mancini in Nations League and lost. The English national team had a solid lineup in theory and were clear favorites to beat Italy and keep fighting the Nations League. However, the English squad delivered a poor game and wasn't able to correctly disarm the Italian defense. 

Roberto Mancini has done an exceptional job with the ‘azurri’ since his arrival and managed to win the 2020 - 2021 Euro with his team. Sadly, Italy didn't qualify for this years World Cup but, after today's victory, they're fighting for a spot in the Nations League ‘Final Four’.

England has failed to maintain their status and although they will be playing the World Cup, the match against Italy leaves the ‘lions’ with serious doubts. One of the players that has been criticized the most is Harry Maguire. 

His poor performances have left not only United fans, but all English fans wondering if he actually deserves the spot on the national team. Maguire has lost his temper and level of play since he joined Manchester United and now he's not even amongst the most important players.

Since his move to United in 2019, Harry Maguire has decreased his participation in games constantly. In the current season he has 5 games and is not a starter at all for Erik Ten Haag. He's given away the ball 19 times and has gifted several goals to rivals, even making some of them himself in his own goal. In his 4 seasons in United he has only 4 clean sheets and his yield is so bad Rio Ferdinand said he doesn't deserve to be United's captain.
