He will not be the first nor the last to be compared to the best player in the world.

Lionel Messi is a unique player, whose career could never be imitated and can hardly be repeated. Of course, he is not only the best soccer player in the world, but he has held that position in the world soccer pyramid for almost two decades. No one in history has managed to stay at the top of this sport for so long and it is believed that it will be very difficult for that to happen again. Beyond that, a 16-year-old boy has already emerged who is compared to him and three giants from Europe are already following him.

It is clear that over the years dozens of players appeared who were supposedly going to be better than Leo or who could at least be close to his level. Time passed and only the Argentine star remains in that privileged position, while the rest of the supposed great footballers were disappearing from the map. We have to see if this time things change, since at least in his country and in his team there is enthusiasm for this 'new Messi' player.

While Leo Messi is going through the last years of his career playing for Inter Miami, another 16-year-old player appeared in South America who promises to be the future of world football. In fact, he is already being closely followed by clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City, who want to have the same luck that Barça had when they signed what would later become the best player on planet Earth and, for many, the greatest of all time.

The player they call the 'new Messi' and surprises

The footballer who is compared to Lionel Messi is Estevão Willian, the 16-year-old jewel that Palmeiras has in the Inferiores. In the last game he scored a hat trick so that his team became two-time champion of the Brasileirão Sub 17. The boy is so good that they already call him 'Messinho'. We have to see if he finishes exploding when he reaches first gear or if he stagnates here, but for now he has great promise.
