PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is undoubtedly sure of his pride in the Qatar Sports Investments' work in the French capital since purchasing the club in 2011. “It’s important for the team," he said of the victory "it’s good for confidence and the future, before an important match next week. With QSI, we are very proud, we are here, and we continue our project. 7-2, it’s not bad."

QSI has spent €1.5 billion in 11 years of ownership and is eyeing a first-ever Champions League title after acquiring the likes of Neymar for €222m, Kylian Mbappe for €180m, left back Achraf Hakimi for €66.5, Edinson Cavani for €64.5m and Angel Di Maria for €63m Le Parisiens have a great deal of expectation on them every time they take the pitch.

Al-Khelaifi said it was difficult singing free agents Messi and Sergio Ramos and with new signings like Renato Sanches and Nordi Mukiele he and QSI may be feeling the heat if PSG doesn't claim European football's biggest prize next June. Another failure would only make it more difficult for the billionaire owners to ward off the critics. Al-Khelaifi has been vocal in his criticism of other leagues and will want to bring the biggest prize in club football home.

But, for now, things are looking up in the French capital, PSG sits at the top of Group H with one more game to play and can tie down top-spot with a win away to struggling Juventus in Turin. The front three continue to put their off-field issues behind them and lead both at home and in Europe.

What PSG President and CEO said about the Champions League draw:

When Group H was revealed Al-Khelaifi said; “I don’t know where we’re going, and of course, everyone wants to go as far as possible in this competition. But the objective is to concentrate, to win each match, to keep a cool head, to stay calm. I think it’s very important.”
