Galtier reveals what Kylian Mbappé went through after denying Real Madrid
Paris coach speaks of "decompression" over striker's decision to turn down Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappé was one of the biggest names in the transfer market before it even began. The French footballer was finishing his contract with PSG and everything pointed to the fact that he would pack his bags to join Real Madrid. In the end, his deal took a twist and he ended up renewing with PSG until 2025.
This decision was incomprehensible to many and was blamed on the Frenchman gaining full power at PSG on and off the pitch and becoming the highest paid footballer in the world.

But Real Madrid fans and executives did not understand his rejection of the European champions, the team that had eliminated him and PSG in the round of 16 despite his great performance in the two matches.
Now, with the season underway, Christophe Galtier —Mbappé’s new coach in PSG— wanted to talk about the situation of his player and speaks of "decompression" for taking the decision to stay in Paris.
Galtier's thoughts on Kylian Mbappé
Galtier shared: "He is a young man. But very mature. He is someone very intelligent, very structured mentally and intellectually. Whether we like it or not, when you make the decision to stay in Paris you deal with everything that goes with it, I think there is a bit of decompression behind it and it's a situation that is difficult to get out of."
