Iker Casillas, who was champion with the Spanish team in the 2010 World Cup and multiple champion with Real Madrid, is now fulfilling a new facet as a soccer coach and although they are his first steps off the pitch, he has attracted attention, as he will debut as DT in Mexico.

The former Spanish soccer player was invited to Mexico City to deliver the Platino Awards, the same ones that are given to Ibero-American film artists and series that have the presence of various stardom figures, as well as several players and former professionals in the field.

Within the teams, Iker Casillas was part of the white group where figures such as Claudio ‘el Piojo’ López and Juan Pablo Sorín, former players of the Argentine team who marked a milestone in South American football, stood out. Although Casillas' wish was to be on the pitch due to the heart problem he suffered, he is unable to do rough activities.

What figures were at the Platino Awards?

According to Universal Sports, three teams were formed for this activity, where players such as Fernando Llorente, Miguel Torres and Fernando Morientes stand out, as well as artists Alfonso Herrera and Sebastián Yatra, an internationally recognized singer.
