Fred has come out in support of his Manchester United teammate Anthony Martial after criticism from club legend Paul Scholes. The Brazilian forward has been criticised for his showboating during the UEFA Europa League match against Sheriff on Thursday. However, Fred believes that Antony should keep doing those plays.

Frederic Rodrigues, more commonly known as Fred, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for the English club Manchester United. He primarily plays as a central midfielder, but can also be deployed as an attacking midfielder or defensive midfielder when needed. Fred joined the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013, where he made over 150 appearances and won multiple trophies, including the Ukrainian Premier League and Ukrainian Cup.

In 2018, he was signed by Manchester United for a reported fee of 59 million dollars. Since joining Manchester United, Fred has made over 170 appearances and he has been praised for his work rate, energy and tenacity on the pitch, which has endeared him to the club's supporters.
On the other hand, Antony is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Manchester United and recently joined from Ajax

Paul Scholes was critical of Fred's performance against Liverpool, saying he "doesn't impact the game" and that he "keeps giving the ball away". However, Fred hit back at his former teammate, saying that he is "proud" to wear the Manchester United shirt and that he will continue to work hard for the team.

What did Fred say in response to Paul Scholes?

Fred has come out in support of his Manchester United teammate Anthony Martial after criticism from club legend Paul Scholes. Scholes had criticised Martial for his showboating during the Thursday match against Sheriff. "It's very annoying that they want to say that," Fred said. "I think it starts with us being Brazilians. Brazilians have quality in their blood. It's always been that way since Pele, to have quality, to dribble, to score, to dance, to smile".
