What Barcelona did in today's match versus Celta Vigo is one for the history books as Barcelona managed to save their undefeated record in a 10 minute comeback drive with great goals made by Robert Lewandowski and Joao Cancelo. And with this win they have positioned themselves in the second place of La Liga’s standings.
Xavi Hernandez looked desperate as his team couldn’t find the right path to jeopardize or even harm Celta Vigo’s goal in the first and part of the second half, but with the right adjustments, the Culé team scored three goals within just 10 minutes, and Celta Vigo lost a great opportunity to ascend in the table and have their seventh victory against Barcelona.
In a postgame interview with Movistar+, Xavi Hernandez was asked about the confidence he had on the team even though they were losing by two goals throughout 80 minutes of the match, “It is a brutal comeback, with the desire to win. When you don't play well you have to appeal to courage.” and added, “It has been a spectacular comeback. We have played with faith and courage, believing until the end…”
With Frankie De Jong leaving the pitch due to an injury, Xavi had to change the whole formation of the team on the run, as he had no other choice, “We were left with two centre-backs and we have accumulated offensive players up front. We had to take risks and it turned out very well for us."
“Everyone has had faith and courage before Barça did not come back in this game with the blow from 0-2 around the 80th minute. We have to play better. It wasn't our best game”, said the Culé manager in an interview with Movistar+.
Joao Cancelo was one of the best players in the final 10 minutes of the match, as he scored the third and decisive point to win the game. Although, he doesn’t believe he had a good game at all, “Personally I was playing a very bad game. Technically I was making a lot of mistakes, but you have to be focused until the end. It's important to win by playing badly, but you have to improve"
