Real Madrid's bad luck with injuries continues, now it was Éder Militao's turn to suffer an injury. The Brazilian had to be replaced in the first league game against Athletic Club. Eder Militao's injury looked bad, after seeing him leave in tears. Finally, this Sunday after having carried out studies, Real Madrid issued a medical report confirming the worst.

“After the tests carried out on our player Éder Militão, he has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days," the merengue team announced this Sunday on its website. In just three days, Carlo Ancelotti suffered two anterior cruciate ligament tears from two key players.

The central defender will miss a large part of the season as will his teammate Courtois. Recovery time for said injury is estimated to last between six and eight months. He will probably be back by the end of March or the beginning of April 2024. Without a doubt, a really sensitive loss for Ancelottiand all of Madrid.

Who can replace Militao?

Beyond thinking about transfers, right now Real Madrid will replace Eder Militao with Antonio Rüdiger, the German defender who is not a starter, since he is behind Alaba and the Brazilian. However, a last-minute reinforcement for Real Madrid is not ruled out.
