Cristiano Ronaldo is going through the last years of his professional career and at the beginning of this year 2023 he made the decision to leave European football aside in order to start exploring new leagues. For this reason, in January he signed a contract with Al-Nassr, a team that plays in the First Division of Saudi Arabia and at 38 years old, many believe that a return to Real Madrid seems practically impossible.

It turns out that this past Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo announced that he plans to continue playing soccer until 2027, a situation that made all Merengue fans' hair stand on end. According to the English press, for this to happen, Al-Nassr will have to renew the Portuguese forward's contract for four more years, since right now he has a contract until June 2025.

Although it is true that a few months ago, Cristiano had stated that he still had no scheduled date for his retirement, in these last few hours, he declared that he plans to play until the aforementioned date and furthermore, he does not plan to do so again in Europe, as explained by the Mirror newspaper. The reason why Ronaldo wants to play until 2027 has to do with the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Cristiano's numbers in Arabia in 2023

From the beginning, everything seemed to indicate that Cristiano's career would not go beyond Euro 2024, but now there is the possibility that he could continue playing until he is 41 years old. The truth is that if he manages to maintain his current level, he will be able to make a difference whatever tournament he plays in, since he currently has 10 goals and 5 assists in only 8 games played in the Saudi Arabian league. Cristiano Ronaldo's dream is to be world champion. Will he achieve it in 2026?
